ISOGAL survey

One of the large programs of the ISOCAM instrument aboard ISO has produced a unique survey in several wavelength ranges of a large fraction of the galactic plane.

This survey provides the first census of both remote star forming regions in the Galaxy and their associated cold condensations seen in absorption against the bright galactic ridge. A follow-up with the IRAM-30m instruments (heterodyne receivers and bolometer) is in progress.
